During National School Choice Week, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville expressed his support for President Donald Trump's recent executive orders. These orders aim to prevent federal funds from being allocated to K-12 schools that teach critical race theory or radical gender ideology and to expand school choice options for students.

Senator Tuberville stated, "I fully support President Trump’s decision to prohibit federal funds from going to any K-12 school that teaches woke, anti-American ideologies. For four years, I have sounded the alarm about the Biden administration’s attempts to make our schools ground zero for Marxist, hateful indoctrination." He emphasized the need for education focused on reading, writing, and math rather than what he described as "brainwashing."

He also praised President Trump's efforts to increase access to school choice. Tuberville noted his background as a coach and educator and stressed the importance of providing every child with the best possible education regardless of their location. He mentioned Alabama's success with magnet, charter, and technical schools as examples of effective educational models.

Tuberville further commented on Trump's leadership during National School Choice Week: "This decision from President Trump comes during National School Choice Week and reaffirms the President’s commitment to empowering parents, not the government, to determine a child’s educational future."

In addition to supporting these executive orders, Senator Tuberville joined Senators Bill Cassidy and Tim Scott in introducing the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA). This legislation aims to expand educational freedom by offering incentives for charitable donations that fund scholarships covering K-12 public and private education expenses. A companion bill was introduced in the House by Representative Adrian Smith.

Senator Tuberville has been involved in education throughout his career and serves on several Senate committees including Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), where he advocates against what he terms "woke ideology" in schools while promoting school choice programs.
