U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama has expressed his support for President Donald Trump's recent executive orders aimed at restoring the operational effectiveness of the United States Armed Forces. Tuberville emphasized concerns over military recruitment levels, which he claims have reached historic lows.
"For the past four years, I have sounded the alarm about Joe Biden and the far-left, progressive Democrats politicizing our military," said Senator Tuberville. "As a result, recruitment has fallen to the lowest levels since before World War II. We need our military to be a fighting machine, not a playground for Democrats’ culture war."
The executive orders issued by President Trump focus on eliminating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the military and reinstating service members who were discharged for refusing COVID-19 vaccinations. The orders also call for updating military standards to prioritize readiness and restore confidence in U.S. Armed Forces.
"Thankfully, change is here," Tuberville continued. "Yesterday’s executive orders from President Donald Trump eliminate DEI in the military, reinstate service members discharged for refusing the COVID vaccine, and ensure military standards are updated to prioritize readiness, restore lethality, and build confidence in our Armed Forces."
Tuberville also highlighted that with President Trump and Secretary Hegseth leading these efforts, there will be an increased focus on national security. "We need a military that is 100% focused on protecting our country and enhancing national security," he stated.
Senator Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on several committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans' Affairs, HELP (Health Education Labor Pensions), and Aging Committees.
