Today, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville from Alabama met with two of President Trump's nominees for key positions in the upcoming administration. The meetings took place in Washington, where Tuberville engaged with Representative Elise Stefanik and Pete Hegseth.
Stefanik, a representative from New York's 21st district, has been nominated to serve as Ambassador to the United Nations. Tuberville expressed his support for her nomination, stating, "Enjoyed meeting with Rep. Elise Stefanik this afternoon to discuss how we can get back to peace through strength. She will do a great job advocating for Americans and their tax dollars at the U.N."
In a separate meeting, Tuberville spoke with Pete Hegseth, who is nominated for Secretary of Defense. He praised Hegseth's military background and vision for change within the Pentagon. Tuberville remarked, "Pete Hegseth will be a great Secretary of Defense. He is a decorated veteran and a true patriot... We need somebody to straighten the military out – to get the woke, DEI affiliation out. I know he is the right choice to bring change and renewed focus to the Pentagon."
Senator Tommy Tuberville serves on several Senate committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP.
