U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville recently appeared on the Fox Business Network show "Kudlow," hosted by David Asman, to discuss the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) response to Hurricane Helene under the Biden-Harris administration. Tuberville criticized FEMA for its delayed response and alleged misallocation of funds.

During the interview, Tuberville addressed concerns about FEMA's financial resources. Asman highlighted contradictions within the administration regarding FEMA's funding status and questioned if money was redirected to assist migrants. Tuberville remarked, "Well, our country is in a mess and we are in a mess. And this administration, David, has no clue what they’re doing."

Tuberville further expressed his frustration with FEMA's operations in North Carolina after Hurricane Helene hit, saying that there was no communication from FEMA for several days. He accused the administration of poor preparedness and criticized Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' leadership.

The discussion also touched upon Vice President Kamala Harris' announcement of $157 million being sent to Lebanon while claiming insufficient funds for domestic disaster relief efforts. Tuberville stated, "We care nothing about the American people, and it’s out of control."

On diversity initiatives within FEMA, Tuberville argued that these priorities were overshadowing effective disaster management: “FEMA is worried more about diversity, equity, inclusion, and climate change than they are helping the people of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.”

Tuberville concluded by expressing concern over an impending hurricane named Milton approaching Tampa as a Category Five storm. He commended Governor Ron DeSantis for preparations but noted his belief that federal assistance might be lacking.

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on several committees including Armed Services and Veterans’ Affairs.
