U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville appeared on Fox News' "The Faulkner Focus" to discuss his efforts to safeguard women's sports and the recent legislative victory with the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act. During the interview, Tuberville expressed his concerns over changes to Title IX, which he believes negatively impact female athletes.
Harris Faulkner, host of "The Faulkner Focus," highlighted Tuberville's opposition to President Biden’s modifications of Title IX that permit biological males in women's spaces. Tuberville emphasized his commitment to ensuring girls like his granddaughter Rosie Grace are not forced into shared facilities or competitions with biological boys. He stated, “We’re not gonna allow them to destroy women’s sports.”
In discussing NCAA President Charlie Baker, Tuberville pointed out what he sees as a growing issue of biological males participating in women’s sports teams across high schools nationwide. He warned against underestimating the problem's scale and potential consequences for Title IX and women’s sports.
Tuberville also spoke about working alongside Paris Hilton on the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act, now awaiting President Biden's signature. The act mandates regular studies and reports aimed at preventing abuse in youth residential programs. Reflecting on his involvement with Hilton's advocacy, Tuberville said, “I got involved with Paris Hilton’s bill here...and I was appalled by how they’re treated.” He stressed the importance of accountability within these institutions.
The senator concluded by acknowledging the financial burden such programs place on families and reiterated that while morals cannot be legislated, significant policy changes can be enacted.
Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on several committees including Armed Services and Agriculture.
