Yesterday, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville from Alabama appeared on "The Evening Edit" with Liz MacDonald on Fox Business. The discussion centered around the nominations of Kash Patel for FBI Director and Linda McMahon for Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education. Tuberville also addressed New York City Mayor Eric Adams's openness to collaborate with the incoming Trump administration.
Regarding Kash Patel's nomination as FBI Director, Tuberville expressed strong support. He criticized the current state of the FBI under Christopher Wray, stating, "FAKE Bureau of Investigation, Liz. We’re going to have a new one." He highlighted his concerns about the FBI being "weaponized" against President Trump and his associates.
On meeting with Linda McMahon, Tuberville was positive about her qualifications for leading the Education Department. He said, “Very good. She’s well qualified... Our education is in trouble, like everything else.” He emphasized her support for homeschooling and school choice and mentioned issues related to Title IX and men's participation in women's sports.
MacDonald brought up Mayor Eric Adams's recent stance on sanctuary city policies in New York City. Tuberville noted a shift in Adams's attitude since Trump's election: “Well, good for him. I tell you, he’s really changed his attitude since President Trump got elected.” Tuberville linked sanctuary city policies to challenges in education and healthcare costs.
Senator Tommy Tuberville serves Alabama in the United States Senate and is part of several committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP.
