Yesterday, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville appeared on "Kudlow" on Fox Business Network to discuss the nomination of Pete Hegseth as the U.S. Secretary of Defense by President-elect Donald Trump. Earlier in the day, Tuberville met with Hegseth to discuss his vision for the Pentagon. The senator also touched upon Kash Patel's nomination as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
During the interview, Tuberville expressed strong support for Hegseth's nomination: “100% right choice, Larry. President Trump’s not—he’s not interested in business as usual because it’s gotten us in trouble." He emphasized Hegseth's military experience and ability to relate to younger warfighters, saying, "This is a different military. This is a different time."
Tuberville addressed concerns about past allegations against Hegseth: “Exactly. And you can read a lot about that. And you just said, Larry, the thing about Pete is he’s well-spoken." He predicted that Senate hearings would focus on military issues rather than past controversies.
On Kash Patel's nomination for FBI Director, Tuberville criticized the current state of the FBI: “We’re not gonna listen to the Fake Bureau of Investigation. They’ve been off the rails now for the last four or five years.” He praised Patel as an excellent choice and noted Trump's strategy of selecting younger and diverse appointees.
Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on several committees including Armed Services and Veterans’ Affairs.
