U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has joined Senators Eric Schmitt (R-MO), Bob Casey (D-PA), and other colleagues in introducing the bipartisan Ensuring Nationwide Access to a Better Life Experience (ENABLE) Act. The ENABLE Act aims to preserve the ability of people with disabilities and their families to save and invest through tax-free savings accounts while maintaining eligibility for federal programs like Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). This will be achieved by making permanent key provisions of the Trump tax cuts, which are set to expire at the end of 2025.

"Every human being is created by God and has inherent dignity, including those with disabilities," said Senator Tommy Tuberville. "After 40 years in the education sector, I have seen firsthand how important it is for teachers, parents, community members, and Congress to work together to ENABLE these people for success. This legislation provides crucial safeguards for people with disabilities to help them invest, save, and achieve independence."

The bill is cosponsored by Senators John Boozman (R-AR), Katie Britt (R-AL), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Peter Welch (D-VT), and Ron Wyden (D-OR).

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and is a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP Committees.
