U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) hosted the Second Annual Alabama Prayer Breakfast this week in Washington, D.C. The event saw participation from over 100 Alabamians alongside congressional leaders, including U.S. Representatives Barry Moore (R-AL-02) and Dale Strong (R-AL-05).
“It was wonderful to see people from across Alabama come together to pray for our state and nation,” said Senator Tuberville. “We are facing a lot of division and brokenness in our country. But God, faith, and prayers bring us together. America needs to turn back to God. That begins with you and me.”
The breakfast featured several faith leaders from Alabama, such as Pastor Chris Hodges of Church of the Highlands, Scott Dawson of the Scott Dawson Evangelistic Association, and D.C.-based Pastors Nathan Newman and Chuck Garriott of Ministry to State.
During his remarks, Senator Tuberville expressed gratitude towards Chris Hodges for the significant influence Church of the Highlands has had on the state, referring to him as Alabama’s “MVP.” Each week, approximately 60,000 Alabamians attend services at Church of the Highlands' multiple campuses. The church also manages an extensive ministry program for inmates in 22 correctional facilities.
Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP Committees.
