U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) appeared on Fox Business Network with Larry Kudlow to discuss President Biden’s recent Executive Order on mass amnesty, which he argues will exacerbate issues at the Southern Border.
Senator Tuberville recently pushed for a vote on the Border Safety and Security Act, a bill aimed at closing the border until the Department of Homeland Security regains operational control. The bill was blocked by Democrats.
During the interview, Kudlow questioned why President Biden had not utilized Section 287G of the Immigration and Naturalization Act, which facilitates deportation of criminals through cooperation between Border Patrol and local law enforcement. Kudlow noted that this aspect is crucial but remains unaddressed by the current administration.
Tuberville responded: “Well, he won’t touch it, Larry, because he believes in mass amnesty. That’s all this is. Get your popcorn and Coke out. Because here it comes—another trick show, another dog and pony show. They’re gonna push this on the American people. They think we’re stupid. This is war on America.”
He further criticized what he perceives as political maneuvering by Democrats ahead of upcoming elections: “They see the polls. It’s all about polling... They want everybody to come here possible.”
Kudlow raised concerns about unclear numbers regarding immigration under current policies: “Nobody knows this numbers game... It probably means a little bit less. But then again, Senator Tuberville, do you think there’ll be less?”
Tuberville expressed skepticism about any effective enforcement: “No. No. No, it’ll never be enforced, Larry... It’s costing American taxpayers billions and billions of dollars.”
The discussion concluded with Tuberville reiterating his belief that current policies are detrimental to national security and taxpayer interests.
Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on several committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP Committees.
