U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville participated in a Senate Armed Services Committee meeting where the focus was on the United States' military presence in Europe and Africa. The senator held discussions with key military leaders on issues in their respective regions.

Senator Tuberville spoke with General Michael E. Langley, Commander of United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), about the challenges the region faces, especially the growth of terrorist activities. Tuberville stated to Langley, "AFRICOM has historically suffered from shortfalls and manpower and ISR and security and all those things. [It] sounds like, from your testimony, that Africa is in trouble – 40% rise in terrorism." The general pointed out that his primary concern is the protection of the force, highlighting the need for Integrated Air and Missile Defense and ISR capabilities.

Furthermore, Tuberville engaged with General Christopher G. Cavoli, Commander of United States European Command (EUCOM), discussing the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. He questioned the general about Ukraine's position in the war, leading Cavoli to note, "They’re in a much better position not to lose it, Senator Tuberville. They have shored up their defenses."

Senator Tuberville serves as Alabama's representative in the United States Senate and is an active member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, HELP, and Aging Committees.
