U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama recently appeared on "Mornings with Maria" on FOX Business to discuss the current Continuing Resolution (CR) and his meeting with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President Trump's nominee for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Tuberville expressed concerns about the contents of the CR, which he described as a "Democrat wish list."

During the interview, host Maria Bartiromo highlighted that congressional leaders released over 1,500 pages of stopgap funding legislation ahead of an impending government shutdown deadline. The bill aims to extend government funding through mid-March and includes approximately $110 billion in disaster relief and aid for farmers. However, some Republicans have criticized the bill for including unrelated provisions such as duty-free Haitian apparel imports and lithium-ion battery legislation.

Senator Tuberville remarked, "Merry Christmas, American taxpayer—we’re going to buy you a new corvette. Now you can’t pay for it for 100 years, but we’re going to buy you a corvette." He called for a clean CR, emphasizing the need for support for American farmers and disaster aid for North Carolina.

Bartiromo also questioned Tuberville about President Trump's nominees, noting his recent meeting with RFK Jr., whom Trump has chosen to lead Health and Human Services. After their meeting, Tuberville posted on social media: "Our meeting reaffirmed what I already knew: RFK Jr. is the right man to make sure our food is safe, bring transparency to vaccines and health care, and Make America Healthy Again." When asked if he plans to vote in favor of all of Trump's nominees, Tuberville responded affirmatively.

Senator Tommy Tuberville serves Alabama in the United States Senate and is part of several committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP.
