U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) released a video today calling for an increase in President Donald Trump’s security detail. This request follows an assassination attempt on President Trump over the weekend, the second such attempt in two months.

“You know, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this weekend, President Trump was nearly assassinated once again. I’m glad the local police and Secret Service agents took down this deranged person before he could carry out his plan. After two assassination attempts in 65 days, it is clear that the current level of Secret Service protection around President Trump is completely insufficient,” Tuberville stated.

“We’re less than two months from the election. President Trump should receive full presidential protection from the Secret Service. I am calling on President Biden and Vice President Harris to give President Trump the same presidential protection they have today. Their silence is deafening. We don’t want more tweets. We want more action. The truth is their inflammatory rhetoric, calling Trump ‘Hitler’ and a ‘threat to democracy’ for the past eight years has driven these psychopaths to take action,” he continued.

“We must protect President Trump and his family, whatever it takes. Our Republic – our country – depends on it,” Tuberville concluded.

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and is a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP Committees.
