U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has written an op-ed in The Daily Signal, criticizing the Biden administration's use of the justice system. In his piece, Sen. Tuberville accuses President Biden of using taxpayer resources to target conservative parents on school boards, Catholics, and pro-life advocates. He also highlights what he describes as Democrats' attempts to imprison former President Trump.

Sen. Tuberville discusses a pledge he signed with several Republican colleagues to prevent the fast-tracking of Biden’s judicial and U.S. attorney nominees through Election Day. This op-ed precedes a roundtable discussion that Senator Tuberville will participate in regarding the Biden administration’s alleged weaponization of the justice system.

In his op-ed, Sen. Tuberville states: “President Joe Biden and his administration have intentionally weaponized the judicial system to target Republicans while protecting Democrats. Since taking office, Biden has used taxpayer resources to attack conservative parents on school boards, Catholics, and pro-life advocates. And that’s in addition to the blatant attempt to jail Biden’s top political opponent during an election year."

He continues by comparing this situation to countries like Venezuela or communist China if constitutional guarantees are not upheld: "If we don’t abide by the Constitution, which guarantees every U.S. citizen equal treatment under the law and the right to a fair trial, we are no better than Venezuela or communist China."

Senator Tuberville criticizes the New York v. Trump case as an example of what he sees as partisan misuse of justice: "The sham New York v. Trump case is perhaps one of the most egregious examples of the Left’s weaponization of justice." He lists issues such as a biased jury and a gag order against Trump among his concerns.

Public confidence in government institutions has decreased during Biden's presidency according to Sen. Tuberville: "Only 42% of Americans have faith in our judicial system, with overall confidence in our federal government at a stunningly low 30%. These numbers are gravely concerning because if we lose the rule of law, we lose this country."

Senator Tuberville concludes by reaffirming his opposition to what he perceives as efforts by President Biden and his allies to undermine American values: "Enough is enough. I refuse to stand by while Biden and his allies try to destroy our country as we know it."

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on several committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP.
