Washington – U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) continues to champion American farmers and agriculture workers, standing up against overregulation and advocating for their interests. In honor of National Agriculture Week, Senator Tuberville has taken significant actions to support American farmers.

Senator Tuberville successfully pressured the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) into extending the poultry line speed waiver deadline, a move that will benefit Alabama poultry farmers. This extension to November 2024 allows poultry plants in Alabama to operate at higher speeds, significantly boosting production for the state.

In a recent announcement, Senator Tuberville expressed concern with a regulation that could negatively impact U.S. paper and pulp producers, as he joined his colleagues in sending a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai.

Furthermore, Senator Tuberville revealed that the U.S. Department of Commerce is reversing a decision that would have severely impacted U.S. catfish farmers. This reversal follows a letter sent by Senator Tuberville to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, highlighting the potential harm to Alabama's catfish industry.

These actions underscore Senator Tuberville's commitment to supporting American agriculture and ensuring the prosperity of farmers in Alabama and across the nation.
