Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the loss:
"I believe in Seth Carter, he's going to be good here and help us win games this year; I'm not waiting until next year. We've had to ask some guys to step up in some roles, and Seth is one of those guys. I'm going to go back to him. We believe in him and I would do the same thing – I would have left him out there, no doubt about it. He's going to be big for this program, and the only way you learn is going out there and faltering and learning through experiences and it was an experience tonight.
"I told the team to keep believing. I am super proud of this group, because there is never an ounce of quit in this team. We have some pieces, and I told them we're close. We're in every game and I believe in them, and they need to believe in it. There's no quit in this club; I saw that this (past) weekend. They keep coming out and working and practicing hard, lift in the weight room and go to class. They do pretty much everything right. I'm proud of this group. I'm judged on wins and losses, but I judge these guys on effort and their effort is there all the time."
