Coronavirus update920

City of Mobile issued the following announcement on July 22.

There have been 6,507 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mobile County, an increase of 154 since Monday, according to the Mobile County Health Department. A total of 176 have died due to COVID-19, an increase of nine since Tuesday's report from the Health Department. Another 4 2,869 are presumed recovered.

Health Department officials attributed the large number of deaths to a delay in the flow of case information.

Looking around the state, Alabama added its largest number of deaths in a single day - 57 - according to the latest coronavirus information from the Alabama Department of Public Health.

ADPH reported 70,413 COVID cases statewide, up 1,338. There were 1,547 people hospitalized in the state due to COVID.
