U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville and Todd Young have introduced the American Innovation and Jobs Act, aiming to enhance research and development efforts by small businesses and startups in the United States. The legislation seeks to position America ahead of global competitors like China, which are heavily investing in similar areas.
Senator Tuberville emphasized the importance of maintaining American innovation leadership: “China is on the move and would love nothing more than to make American innovation a thing of the past,” he stated. He further highlighted President Trump’s commitment to prioritizing American businesses globally. “This bill gives us the upper hand over China by investing in research and development projects based in the United States,” Tuberville added.
Senator Young also stressed the significance of maintaining America’s leading role in scientific and technological advancements. “The United States is locked in a competition to ensure we maintain our position as the global leader in scientific and technological innovation,” he said.
