U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville has paid tribute to U.S. Navy Captain Paul “Puck” Esposito, recognizing him as the May “Veteran of the Month.” In a video message, Senator Tuberville praised Captain Esposito’s dedication and service.
“In Alabama, we take a lot of pride in honoring and supporting the heroes who have served in our nation’s military,” said Senator Tuberville. He highlighted Captain Esposito’s extensive career in the Navy, noting that he followed his father’s footsteps by joining in 1986 and served as a Navy Aviator for 30 years. His service included flying Grey helicopters, an exchange tour with the Canadian Air Force, and eight years at sea across nine deployments.
Senator Tuberville also acknowledged Captain Esposito’s role at Auburn University’s Vets Resource Center, where he has significantly contributed to supporting student-veterans and military-affiliated students. Under his leadership over the past decade, the center expanded its support from 600 to 2,100 students. The center addresses issues like veteran suicide, food insecurity, and homelessness while providing academic resources.
“We’re proud to now call Puck one of our own,” Tuberville stated. He also encouraged constituents to nominate other Alabama veterans for recognition by contacting his office.
Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on several committees including Armed Services and Veterans’ Affairs.
