U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville from Alabama is actively involved in efforts to support pro-life initiatives. In collaboration with Senator James Lankford, he introduced the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act aimed at safeguarding children who survive abortion attempts. Additionally, Tuberville has co-sponsored the Defund Planned Parenthood Act alongside Senator Rand Paul to prevent taxpayer funding of abortions.
Tuberville also joined forces with Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith in drafting a letter to President Trump, urging him to reinstate pro-life policies within his administration. This initiative coincides with the upcoming March for Life event scheduled for tomorrow in Washington, D.C.
"Since I got to Washington, I have been a champion for the unborn," stated Senator Tuberville. "As Suzanne and I are welcoming our first grandchild this year, we have been reminded that every baby’s life is precious. This is not about Republican or Democrat; this is about right and wrong. President Trump has a strong record of pro-life policies, and I am confident that his administration will continue to stand for life. I'm proud to partner with my Republican colleagues to fight for the most vulnerable among us."
Several other senators have joined these legislative efforts: Senators Jim Banks, John Barrasso, Marsha Blackburn, Katie Britt, Ted Budd, Bill Cassidy, John Cornyn, Tom Cotton, Kevin Cramer, Mike Crapo, Ted Cruz, John Curtis, Steve Daines, Joni Ernst, Deb Fischer, Lindsey Graham, Chuck Grassley among others have supported the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
Senators Ted Budd and Thom Tillis are among those supporting the Defund Planned Parenthood Act along with Tuberville and Paul.
The letter sent to President Trump was backed by Senators Jim Banks and Marsha Blackburn among others including Shelley Moore Capito and Jerry Moran.
Senator Tommy Tuberville serves on several Senate committees including Armed Services and Veterans’ Affairs.
