Today, U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville and Cynthia Lummis appeared on Newsmax's "National Report" to discuss the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. This legislation aims to prevent biological males from participating in female sports. The House of Representatives passed the act earlier this week with a vote of 218-206, including support from two Democrats.

During the interview, Senator Lummis stated, "It’s only common sense that we preserve women’s sports for biological women." She emphasized safety concerns and the importance of maintaining opportunities created by Title IX for women.

Senator Tuberville expressed his view that current Democratic policies undermine these protections: "They have yet to figure out why they lost November the 5th—well, I tell you why they lost: a major part of it was because they have lost their ever-loving mind."

The conversation also touched upon Pete Hegseth's confirmation hearings for Secretary of Defense under President-elect Donald Trump. Tuberville supported Hegseth, stating, "He did an excellent job of coming back on everything that they threw at him."

Lummis voiced her approval as well: "We need to inspire young men and women to join our military and Pete Hegseth is one of the best spokespeople in the whole country."

The discussion highlighted ongoing debates around gender and military recruitment issues as both senators reaffirmed their positions.
