Today, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama appeared on Newsmax's "National Report" to discuss ongoing government funding negotiations and his role in establishing the "Make America Healthy Again" caucus alongside Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas. The caucus aims to improve nutrition, access to affordable, high-quality foods, healthcare transparency, and address chronic diseases.

During the interview, Tuberville expressed skepticism about the potential for a government shutdown. He stated, "All talk, no action. That’s what happens in Washington, D.C." He emphasized that if a shutdown occurs, it would be due to Democratic actions: "The ball is in their court. If we shut it down, it’ll be because of them."

Addressing concerns about federal employees potentially going without pay during a shutdown, Tuberville commented that the situation was exaggerated: "It’s all blown out of proportion by shutting the government down." He further criticized current spending practices as detrimental to taxpayers and advocated for budget reforms.

Tuberville also shared his thoughts on House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi: "He is no Nancy Pelosi...he has no business being the majority leader over there." He stressed the need for fiscal responsibility: "We gotta start doing a budget. Give President Trump a chance."

In discussing his involvement with the "Make America Healthy Again" caucus, Tuberville highlighted issues with food safety standards and public trust in government health guidance. He said, "[People don’t] trust the American government," citing discrepancies between U.S. and European regulations on food additives like red dyes.

Tuberville endorsed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nominated for Health and Human Services leadership by President Trump, praising his approach despite not being a doctor or scientist: "He’s putting together a team like Dr. Oz and a CDC director and NIH director that actually care about the American people."

The senator concluded with holiday greetings: “Merry Christmas.”

Senator Tommy Tuberville serves Alabama in the United States Senate and participates in several committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP.
