U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama has joined forces with U.S. Senator Rick Scott of Florida to announce the passage of a Senate resolution commemorating the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attack at Naval Air Station Pensacola. The tragic event, which occurred on December 6, 2019, involved a Saudi military trainee who killed three U.S. Navy sailors and injured several others.
Senator Tuberville expressed his admiration for Ensign Joshua Kaleb Watson, one of the victims, stating: “Ensign Joshua Kaleb Watson is a hero who showed incredible courage in the face of terrorism on Dec. 6, 2019.” He further added that Watson's actions on that day exemplified American patriotism and highlighted Alabama's pride in him as one of their own.
The resolution is co-sponsored by Senators Katie Britt from Alabama, Jon Ossoff from Georgia, Marco Rubio from Florida, and Raphael Warnock from Georgia.
Senator Tuberville serves Alabama in the United States Senate and is part of several committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP.
