U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville has recognized U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Claudia Wigglesworth of Daleville as the December "Veteran of the Month." In a video released by his office, Senator Tuberville praised Lt. Col. Wigglesworth for her service and ongoing contributions to her community.

Senator Tuberville highlighted her military career, noting, "We often think of the holiday season as a time for giving. For Lieutenant Colonel Claudia Wigglesworth of Daleville, she exhibits this spirit of generosity all year long."

Lt. Col. Wigglesworth held various leadership roles during her military service, including positions as a company commander in the Gulf War, at the Pentagon, and at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe. She also served as Inspector General for Fort Jackson in South Carolina. One significant role was serving as a Recruiting Battalion Commander after the 9/11 attacks, which she described as rewarding due to its impact on national defense.

After retiring from the military in 2005 following 23 years of service, Lt. Col. Wigglesworth returned to Daleville with her husband Charlie, also an Army veteran.

In Daleville, she has been active in community service by organizing annual food drives and environmental projects. Her political career includes serving on the City Council and being elected Mayor of Daleville. As mayor, she played a key role in expanding Flight School Training Support Services and establishing Daleville's helicopter simulation training center.

Her volunteer work extends to several regional organizations aiding those in need across Wiregrass and Alabama. She holds positions such as District Chair for Lions Club International Foundation and Trustee for VFW Post 6020.

Senator Tuberville honors an Alabama veteran each month for their service and community contributions. Constituents can nominate veterans by submitting information to his office via email.

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on multiple committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP.
