Washington – U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona investigating possible outside influences behind the Biden administration's recent finalized Title IX rule that impacts women and girls across the country. The finalized rule redefines gender and forces schools to allow males in spaces and activities designed for females. Tuberville, a leading voice in opposing the administration's attempts to dismantle Title IX, is requesting answers from Cardona by May 22, as reported by Newsroom | Press Releases.

Tuberville, a former educator, mentor, and coach for over 40 years, has been a staunch advocate for the preservation of Title IX. He expressed his concerns about the future of girls' and women's sports, citing his first-hand experience coaching high school girls' basketball shortly after the enactment of Title IX. In response to the recent rule changes, Tuberville emphasized the importance of protecting Title IX and female athletes, stating, "Try as he might, Joe Biden doesn’t get to tell us what a woman is."

The Senator has been actively involved in efforts to safeguard Title IX and women's sports, including introducing bills and amendments aimed at preserving the integrity of female athletics. Tuberville's actions have garnered support from his colleagues in the Senate as they collectively fight to save Title IX and women's sports from what they perceive as an attack by the Biden administration.

In his letter to Secretary Cardona, Tuberville demanded answers and clarification on the motivations behind the radical rewrite of Title IX, highlighting the potential negative implications for female athletes. Tuberville's unwavering dedication to upholding the principles of Title IX was further demonstrated through his participation in roundtable discussions, op-eds, and legislative initiatives focused on protecting women's sports.

As Tuberville continues to lead the charge in defending Title IX, he remains resolute in his commitment to ensuring that the rights and opportunities of female athletes are safeguarded. The Senator's relentless advocacy underscores the critical importance of preserving Title IX in its original form, as he warns against any attempts to weaken its protections.
