South Alabama men's basketball falls to FAU

South Alabama men's basketball was unable to find much rhythm Wednesday night, falling to FAU, 84-59, at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.

 

The Jaguars (3-5) were once again led by Isaiah Moore, who recorded 17 points and five assists. Michael Forrest led the Owls (6-1) with 17 points, and he was joined in double-figures by three other teammates.  

 

GAME FACTS (HOW IT HAPPENED)

  • Isaiah Moore got the scoring started with a turnaround jumper at the 19:04 mark.
  • The Jags then went cold, not scoring for almost nine minutes, and the Owls built a 15-2 lead.
  • FAU's lead was 20-to-4 with 9:29 left in the first half.
  • The Jags then scored 12 straight points to get back in the game over the next four minutes, punctuated by a Judah Brown 3-pointer.
  • They forced four turnovers by the Owls in that span.
  • Kevin Samuel made a dunk just before the first-half buzzer off an assist from Moore to make the score 29-20 in favor of the Owls.
  • The Owls extended their lead to 17 with 16:00 to go in the second half.
  • The Jaguars got no closer than 10 (45-35) at the 13:51 mark.
