The Alabama School of the Arts opens their 2022 – 2023 season with one of the most beloved musicals of all time – The Sound of Music! Based on the inspirational story and memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, come follow the governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp as she brings music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. Be sure to watch Rodgers & Hammerstein’s final collaborative work as you listen to the familiar melodies of “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Sixteen going on Seventeen” and the title tune, The Sound of Music.
