All-Time Series

• Tulsa owns a 2-0 all-time lead over South Alabama after winning a pair of matches in Mobile in 1999.

• SFA holds a 3-1 all-time lead over the Jags after a pair of wins in 2020 in Mobile. The Lumberjacks have won three straight in the series dating back to 1990. USA's lone win against SFA came in 1988 in Jonesboro, Ark.

• South Alabama owns a 13-9 all-time series lead over McNeese after a sweep in 2017 in Mobile. The Jags have won three straight matches in the series dating back to 2015.

Jag Notes

• Setter Kailey Keeble recorded two double-doubles in three matches last weekend at the USF Invitational, and enters the weekend with 21 career double-doubles which ranks tied for seventh all-time at South Alabama. She posted a season-high 45 assists and career-high 26 digs against South Florida to close the USF Invitational.

• Outside hitter Maddie Soboleski recorded a double-double against Ball State, the 17th of her career, with 14 kills and 13 digs. She currently ranks 13th in career double-doubles at USA.

• South Alabama leads the Sun Belt Conference in digs per set (16.45), and ranks second in kills per set (13.18), total digs (181) and opponent service aces per set (0.82) entering the weekend.

• The Jags rank 18th nationally in total attacks per set (38.18). Soboleski ranks sixth in the country in attacks per set (13.91), and 14th in total attacks (153). She ranks fifth in the SBC in kills (44), and seventh in kills per set (4.00).

• Middle blocker Niki Capizzi ranks second in the SBC in hitting percentage (.491), which ranks 24th nationally.

• Keeble ranks third in the league in assists (107), tied for fourth in digs (45), fifth in assists per set (9.73) and seventh in digs per set (4.09).

• Soboleski ranks fifth in the SBC in total points (51.5), and seventh in average points per set (4.68).

• Libero Rachel Hickey ranks sixth in the conference in digs (44), and eighth in digs per set (4.00).

• Capizzi was named the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, and Hickey was voted the 2022 SBC Preseason Libero of the Year.

• Capizzi, Soboleski and Keeble were each named 2022 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference.

• The Jaguars were picked to win the 2022 Sun Belt Conference West Division in a preseason poll voted on by the league's head coaches. USA received eight of 14 first-place votes.

• South Alabama clinched the program's first-ever Sun Belt Conference overall regular-season championship last season with a 15-1 league record, and won the program's first-ever SBC Tournament championship to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA postseason.

• USA set a new program record for SBC wins (15) in a season in 2021, and its 25 overall wins were the most by a Jaguar team since the 1987 squad won 26 matches. The Jags' 25 wins ranked as the third-most in a single season at USA.

• South Alabama Head Coach Jesse Ortiz was voted the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year, and joins Ritchie Ponquinette (1987) and Jim Smoot (1995) as the only South Alabama coaches to earn the honor in the program's history. Ortiz was also named the 2021 American Volleyball Coaches Association Southeast Region Coach of the Year.
