South Alabama’s women’s soccer team will play two home games this week at The Cage. The Jaguars are scheduled to face Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) on Thursday at 6 p.m., followed by a match against Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU) on Sunday at 6 p.m. Sunday’s game will also serve as Senior Night, recognizing eight graduating players.

The Jaguars have a record of 6-9-2 in their series with MTSU. Their most recent meeting ended in a 4-3 win for South Alabama in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on September 12, 2024.

Against Southeastern Louisiana, the Jaguars hold a 9-1-1 advantage overall. The last encounter between the teams resulted in a 2-1 victory for South Alabama in Hammond, Louisiana, on August 25, 2024.

South Alabama comes into these matches after defeating Louisiana Tech 2-0 last Sunday. Ava Matherne and Bonnie Frost scored for the Jaguars; Frost found the net with a header while Matherne scored from open play.

MTSU enters Thursday’s game with an unbeaten start to their season at 3-0-1. Four freshmen—Mya Stenehjem, Olivia Best, Alli Craig and Scottie Newton—have each scored for the Blue Raiders so far this year.

Southeastern Louisiana has started its season with three losses. Charlotte Lewis recorded SLU’s first goal of the season during their match against Jackson State on August 24.

Prior to Sunday’s match against SLU, South Alabama will honor seniors Rhyan Connolly, Natalie Chapuran, Georgia Cousins, Bonnie Frost, Sydney Magliocca, Juliana Lopes, Melina Descary and Sierra Giorgio.

Both games will be available via streaming on ESPN+, and live statistics can be accessed online. Fans can follow updates through South Alabama Soccer’s social media channels or visit usajaguars.com for more information.
