The South Alabama Jaguars women’s golf team is set to compete in the UCF Challenge presented by PDI, which will take place from January 25 to 27 at Eagle Creek Golf Club. The tournament features a three-day, 54-hole format and will begin on Sunday morning with teams teeing off from holes No. 1 and No. 10 between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. (CT) on the par-72, 6,392-yard course.
Second-round play is scheduled for Monday at 7:30 a.m. (CT) with another split tee start, while Tuesday’s final round will begin with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. (CT). Live scoring for each round can be accessed through USAJaguars.com.
South Alabama joins host UCF and fourteen other teams in the field, including Abilene Christian, Auburn, Baylor, Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Kent State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Florida, Northern Illinois, Old Dominion, Penn State and South Florida. In the opening round, South Alabama will be paired with Penn State and South Florida and will start on hole No. 1.
The Jaguars’ lineup consists of Anna Behnsen (tee time: 8:45 a.m.), Daniela Palmeros (8:36 a.m.), Lilian Buehle (8:27 a.m.), McKenna Murphy (8:18 a.m.) and Ana Malcolm Poch (8:09 a.m.). Katelyn Foster will compete as an individual player with her tee time set for 7:51 a.m., alongside individuals from Old Dominion and East Carolina.
Nine teams in the tournament are currently ranked in the Top 100 nationally—Auburn (7), UCF (12), Mississippi State (18), Baylor (21), Charlotte (63), Penn State (71), South Florida (81) and Florida Gulf Coast (86). South Alabama holds the No. 82 spot in the Clippd Rankings, which places them third among Sun Belt Conference members behind Texas State at No. 56 and ULM at No. 73. Abilene Christian is just outside the Top 100 at No. 101.
Anna Behnsen leads South Alabama in average strokes per round this season at 71.08 and has achieved three Top-10 finishes including one tournament victory. She also leads her team in birdies with thirty-nine and has recorded five rounds under par—three of which were sub-70 scores. Daniela Palmeros has also earned medalist honors this season with three rounds under par.
