South Alabama women’s basketball will face Southern Miss at the Mitchell Center on Wednesday at 5 p.m. CST. The game is part of Jaguars Unite/Greek Night.
The Jaguars, with a record of 10-17 overall and 3-13 in conference play, recently secured a 64-59 win over Texas State. This marks their first season with at least 10 wins since the 2020-21 campaign. Head Coach Yolisha Jackson aims for her fourth Sun Belt Conference victory this year, having achieved a career-high three conference wins so far.
In last week’s games, Daniela Gonzalez and Diawna Carter-Hartley each recorded a double-double, tying them for 26th nationally in that category. Tamara Ortiz was perfect from the free throw line, making all six attempts—a feat accomplished by only 144 players nationwide.
Southern Miss enters the matchup with a 14-14 overall record and is led by first-year Head Coach Missy Bilderback. The Lady Eagles are coming off a loss to Troy and have dropped seven of their last ten games but have notable wins against Old Dominion, Texas State, Louisiana, and Troy—the top seed in the Sun Belt Conference.
The two teams last met on December 18, 2025, when Southern Miss defeated South Alabama 84-65 in Hattiesburg. In that game, Cordasia Harris posted one of her ten double-doubles this season with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Fans can watch Wednesday’s game on ESPN+ or follow live statistics via StatBroadcast. Updates will also be available through South Alabama’s social media channels.
Promotions for the event include $2 popcorn and fountain drinks as part of a doubleheader deal. Wristbands will be given to all attendees, while students can receive bucket hats.
