South Alabama women’s basketball is set to host Marshall in a midweek matchup at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell Center in Mobile, Alabama. The Jaguars currently hold a 9-12 overall record and are 2-9 in conference play. A win against Marshall would mark South Alabama’s first 10-win season in five years.
The Jaguars have not secured a victory against the Thundering Herd in their previous three meetings. Their most recent contest was during the Sun Belt Tournament on March 4, 2025, where South Alabama lost 73-59.
South Alabama enters this game following an 88-52 road loss to James Madison last Saturday. In that game, Chrysta Narcisse recorded a career-high of 10 rebounds, while Alicia Spann achieved her season-best eight points and matched her career-high with eight rebounds. Daniela Gonzalez has been perfect from the free-throw line over the last two games, going six-for-six and leading the nation in free-throw percentage for that week. Ronaltha Marc is also approaching a milestone, needing just three more steals to reach 100 for her career.
Marshall arrives after a decisive 95-54 victory over Louisiana. Timaya Lewis-Eutsey led Marshall with 24 points and has been averaging 21.3 points per game in league play. She leads the team this season with averages of 18.1 points per game, along with team highs in assists (95) and steals (85). Marshall currently sits fourth in the Sun Belt standings behind Arkansas State, Troy, and Georgia Southern.
