South Alabama is set to face Southeastern Louisiana in a midweek baseball game on Tuesday night in Hammond, Louisiana. The matchup will begin at 6:00 p.m. Central Time.
The two teams have played each other 71 times, with South Alabama holding a 45-26 advantage in the all-time series. Their most recent meeting was in April 2025, when Southeastern Louisiana won 8-6 at Stanky Field. A second scheduled game last season was canceled due to weather conditions in Hammond. The Jaguars’ last visit to Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field resulted in a seven-inning, 13-1 win over the Lions during the 2024 season.
Southeastern Louisiana started its 2026 campaign with five consecutive losses, including a sweep by Kent State and a defeat against No. 20 Southern Miss. However, the Lions recovered by winning two out of three games against SIUE this past weekend.
South Alabama enters the contest after securing a road series victory against Charleston, taking two out of three games. The Jaguars’ offense has produced strong results early this season, including run-ruling Charleston and scoring 16 runs for the second time this year. They lead the Sun Belt Conference with 12 home runs so far, highlighted by contributions from Stewart Puckett and senior Blake Guerin.
Stewart Puckett has hit safely in all seven games this season for South Alabama. Brennon Wright leads the team with 13 hits and holds a four-game hitting streak, while Mike Young has collected hits in five straight games.
Senior left-handed pitcher Hayden O’Dell is expected to make his second start for South Alabama after performing well at Nicholls State.
