South Alabama will host the University of Louisiana Monroe for its Sun Belt Conference home opener, beginning with a Friday night game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on March 19. The series will continue on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., with the finale set for Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
The matchup is significant as South Alabama has maintained a strong record against ULM, having not lost a series to the Warhawks since 2007 and holding a 45-18 all-time advantage in their meetings. The Jaguars most recently clinched a series win over ULM in Monroe during the regular season finale in 2025.
ULM enters the series with momentum, leading the Sun Belt Conference in batting average, hits, on-base percentage, and runs scored. The Warhawks are currently on a five-game winning streak and recently swept Texas State in their conference opener. Their offense has been performing well, highlighted by a recent high-scoring victory over UNO.
For South Alabama, Mitchell Heer is expected to start Friday’s game and has contributed to an undefeated record for the team on Friday nights this season. Brennon Wright stands out offensively, ranking second in batting average and leading the conference in on-base percentage. Daniel Gonzalez will pitch against his former team on Sunday and leads Jaguar starters with a 3.00 ERA.
Fans can follow live coverage of each game through ESPN+ or Jags Radio Network. Additional updates are available via South Alabama’s official social media channels and website.
