South Alabama will face Georgia State in a three-game softball series at Jaguar Field starting April 10. The games are scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m.
The matchup is important as both teams continue their Sun Belt Conference campaigns. South Alabama currently holds a record of 24-18 overall and an 8-4 mark in conference play, while Georgia State stands at 23-20 overall and is 3-9 in the league.
The series will feature several promotions, including Sydney Stewart Senior Day on Friday, a Geaux Teal Game with a shirt giveaway on Saturday, and Olivia Cato Senior Day along with Frio’s Family Day activities on Sunday. Fans can access live stats and ESPN+ links through the team’s schedule page.
In previous meetings, South Alabama leads the all-time series against Georgia State by a margin of 22-10. At home in Mobile, South Alabama has won eleven out of fourteen games against its opponent.
Several players have made notable contributions this season. Ryley Harrison ranks among the top ten pitchers in the league for earned run average (2.45), innings pitched (137), strikeouts (122), wins, and saves. Harrison also has ten complete games and four shutouts this spring. Sydney Scapin holds opponents to a .231 batting average, which is third lowest in the conference.
Offensively, Gracie Dees leads her team with nineteen extra-base hits—including fourteen doubles—and Virginia Mambelli tops South Alabama with a .375 batting average along with five home runs and twenty-four runs batted in. Presley Lively leads the Sun Belt Conference with six triples this season.
