South Alabama will begin a three-game baseball series against No. 14 Coastal Carolina on April 4 at Springs Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina.
The matchup is significant as both teams compete within the Sun Belt Conference, with South Alabama holding an overall record of 18-11 and a conference record of 5-4. Coastal Carolina enters the series undefeated in conference play at 9-0 and is ranked No. 14 nationally.
Coastal Carolina leads the all-time series between the programs, with a record of 16 wins to South Alabama’s ten since their first meeting in 2005. The Chanticleers are coming off an eight-game win streak, highlighted by sweeps over App State, James Madison University, Marshall, and Fairfield this season. They have also posted notable wins against nationally ranked opponents such as Ole Miss and Wake Forest while maintaining a strong RPI ranking entering this weekend’s games.
