South Alabama is set to play a three-game softball series against James Madison at Bank of the James Field at Veterans Memorial Park in Harrisonburg, Va., starting March 27.
The matchup marks the first time the two teams will meet for a series in Harrisonburg. South Alabama holds a 4-2 lead in the all-time series against James Madison, with all previous games featuring at least four runs scored by the winning team. The Jaguars have won their last three meetings against the Dukes.

Pitcher Ryley Harrison leads South Alabama with an 11-6 record and ranks among the top ten pitchers in several categories within the Sun Belt Conference, including innings pitched (third), strikeouts (third), strikeouts looking (fifth), earned run average (sixth), and wins (fourth). As a pitching staff, South Alabama leads the conference in shutouts with eight—tied for thirteenth nationally—and ranks second in both total strikeouts and strikeouts looking.
At bat, Gracie Dees holds a .317 average with a team-high sixteen extra-base hits, including twelve doubles that are tied for third-most in conference play. Lillie Stagner and Virginia Mambelli share team leads with four home runs and twenty-one runs batted in each; Dees follows closely behind with three home runs and twenty RBIs. Eight different Jaguars have hit home runs this season, including seven players with multiple homers. Mambelli also leads her team offensively with a .385 batting average and .705 slugging percentage. Presley Lively tops the conference in triples with five—tied for third nationally—and has drawn twenty walks this season.
