Fourteen members of the South Alabama Jaguars women’s softball team have been named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes for the 2024-25 academic year. The recognition, announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), honors student-athletes who achieved a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
The athletes recognized from South Alabama are Brooklyn Bockhaus, Olivia Branstetter, Ashleia Coble, Rachel Everett, Morgan Hall, Ryley Harrison, Brea Holley, Sidney Lee, Presley Lively, Sophia Mendoza, Sydney Scapin, Ansleigh Smith, Gracie Tentinger and Amity White. They are among more than 2,500 Division I honorees across the country.
Rachel Everett was selected for a fourth time. She spent her final two seasons with the program as a student manager after starting as a pitcher. Brooklyn Bockhaus received her third consecutive honor. Olivia Branstetter, Sidney Lee and Gracie Tentinger were each named to the list for a second time.
The award is presented to student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.5 GPA during the academic year. Since its first season in 2007, South Alabama has had at least seven honorees every year and now totals 168 recipients under head coach Becky Clark’s leadership. For each of the past five seasons, at least 13 players have earned this distinction.
“USA has had at least seven honorees in each season of its existence since the inaugural 2007 campaign and a total of 168 student-athletes at South Alabama have earned the honor under head coach Becky Clark,” according to the announcement.
