South Alabama’s women’s basketball team will travel to face Coastal Carolina in a Sun Belt Conference matchup at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina. The game is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. EST.
The Jaguars currently hold a record of 9-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play. In their last game, they secured a 73-67 win over ULM. Cordasia Harris contributed significantly with her ninth double-double of the season and collected 15 rebounds, marking the highest single-game rebound total by a South Alabama player since the 2020-21 season. Harris is ranked sixth nationally in offensive rebounds per game (4.3) and tenth in double-doubles (9). She also appears among the national top-40 in several categories, including blocks and field-goal percentage.
The Jaguars lead the Sun Belt Conference in three-point shooting percentage at 36 percent and are fourth in three-point defense, holding opponents to 26.9 percent from beyond the arc.
Tamara Ortiz also had a notable performance last week, posting career-highs with five assists and setting season highs in points (13), three-pointers made (3), and minutes played (32). Against ULM, South Alabama hit 10 three-pointers—their most since making 15 against UAB on November 8, 2025.
Coastal Carolina enters the contest with an overall record of 8-10 and is coming off an 80-74 loss at Marshall. The Chanticleers lead the Sun Belt in three-point defense (26.2 percent) and are second in three-point shooting percentage (35.9 percent). They rank seventeenth nationally with an average of 9.2 made threes per game.
Kristin Williams leads all Division I players with an average of 3.33 made three-pointers per game this season and ranks second nationally with sixty total threes made. Tessa Grady is fifteenth nationally in three-point attempts (141) and leads the conference as well.
