South Alabama’s baseball team will host Tulane at Stanky Field on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., following a five-game road trip. The Jaguars, currently holding a 6-2 record, lead the all-time series against Tulane 29-24 over 53 meetings. Their last encounter took place in New Orleans during the 2024 season, where South Alabama won 14-7. Tulane has not played at Stanky Field since April 26, 2022, when they lost to the Jaguars by an 8-1 score.
Tulane enters the game with a 5-3 record. The Green Wave began their season on the West Coast with a series win against LMU and later faced No. 2 UCLA in Los Angeles, losing that matchup. They swept Harvard in their home opening series, including an 11-1 run-rule victory in seven innings. In their most recent contest, Tulane was defeated by cross-town opponent UNO with a final score of 11-3.
For South Alabama, Zach Stevens will make his first start of the season as right-handed pitcher. Coverage of the game will be available on ESPN+ and through the Jaguars Radio Network.
The Jaguars are coming off a successful road stretch, winning two out of three games against Charleston and defeating Southeastern Louisiana in a close match that ended 9-7. Junior Stewart Puckett has recorded hits in every game this season, extending his hitting streak to eight games and leading the team with ten RBIs. The team is batting .337 with two outs and has accumulated thirty RBIs under those circumstances.
