South Alabama men’s golf team will begin its spring season by hosting the Hal Williams Collegiate at Magnolia Grove Golf Club in Semmes, Alabama. The tournament is scheduled for February 16-17 and will feature a 36-hole format on Monday followed by an 18-hole round on Tuesday. Play will start with a shotgun beginning at 8:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time on Saturday and at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The Jaguars currently hold the No. 57 national ranking after a strong fall season, during which they achieved top-five finishes in all four tournaments they entered and recorded a program-best score of 31-under par at the Trinity Forest Invitational, finishing just one stroke short of tying for first place.

A total of 14 teams are set to compete in the event, including nationally ranked No. 12 Illinois as well as Texas State, Nebraska, Rice, Memphis, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, UAB, Davidson, Southern Illinois, Southern Mississippi, Louisiana Tech and Abilene Christian.

The lineup for South Alabama includes Hugo Thyr from Lidköping, Sweden; Josh Hill from County Antrim, Northern Ireland; Tim Kretschmann from Viernheim, Germany; Samir Davidov from Roanoke, Virginia; Filip Svendsen from Fredrikstad, Norway; Cole Haygood from Ponce Inlet, Florida (competing individually); and Mason Crowder from Dothan, Alabama (competing individually).
