South Alabama Soccer will open its 2025 season against LSU on August 14 at 6 p.m. The match is scheduled to take place at LSU Soccer Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In the history between the two teams, South Alabama has won once and lost six times to LSU. Their most recent meeting ended in a loss for South Alabama on August 15, 2024.

The Jaguars concluded their previous season with a record of 10 wins, six losses, and three draws. Last year’s squad included Irene Campo, who was named Sun Belt’s Offensive Player of the Year. The team saw significant roster changes in the offseason, losing 14 players but returning 12 athletes such as Bonnie Frost, Melina Descary, and Juliana Lopes. South Alabama added 12 new players for the fall class, including transfers Aliya Gomes from Pittsburgh, Andrea Iljkic from LSU, and Sierra Giorgio from Oklahoma.

LSU finished last season with nine wins, nine losses, and three draws and participated in the NCAA Tournament. This fall’s recruiting class brought in ten new players for LSU—six of whom are international recruits. Among returning players is Isa Hermannsdoffir, who led the Tigers with eight goals and sixteen points last season.
