The South Alabama Jaguars women’s softball team will play against Florida State University on March 11, according to a March 10 announcement. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Central Time at JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee, Florida, and will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
This matchup marks the first meeting between the two teams since the 2022 season. Florida State leads the all-time series with eight wins to South Alabama’s four, including a 4-1 advantage when playing in Tallahassee. The Jaguars’ only win at Florida State came during the 2012 campaign with a score of 3-1.
Key players for South Alabama include Ryley Harrison, who holds an 8-4 record and ranks among the top ten in several league pitching categories such as innings pitched, strikeouts, and earned run average. Virginia Mambelli leads the team with a .451 batting average and has driven in fourteen runs this season. Gracie Dees has contributed fifteen runs batted in and leads the team with thirteen extra-base hits, including nine doubles.
Other notable contributors are Lillie Stagner and Olivia Branstetter, who lead the team in runs batted in with seventeen and sixteen respectively. Sophomore outfielder Presley Lively is tied for first place in the Sun Belt Conference for both triples (three) and walks (eighteen), while she and Branstetter have scored a combined thirty-two runs this season.
