South Alabama’s baseball team will play its first road game of the season against Nicholls State on Tuesday night in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The matchup is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start and will be available to watch via ESPN+.
The two teams have met 55 times previously, with South Alabama holding a 37-18 advantage in the all-time series. Their most recent meeting was last season, when South Alabama won 2-0 at Stanky Field.
Nicholls State began its 2026 season with three losses against No. 15 Tennessee in Knoxville. The Colonels dropped both games of a Saturday doubleheader by scores of 1-5 and 2-12, after losing Friday’s opener 0-10. Tuesday’s contest marks Nicholls State’s home opener.
For South Alabama, senior left-handed pitcher Hayden O’Dell is set to make his debut for the Jaguars as the starting pitcher on Tuesday night.
The Jaguars are coming off an opening weekend series win over USC-Upstate at Stanky Field. In that series, South Alabama scored a total of 30 runs on 31 hits and hit eight home runs, including a strong offensive showing with 16 runs on opening night.
