The South Alabama Men’s Golf team has finalized its roster for the 2025-26 season with the inclusion of senior golfer Samir Davidov. Davidov, who hails from Roanoke, Virginia, is a top-100 recruit from Lord Botetourt High School and has spent three seasons playing for the George Mason Patriots.
During his tenure at George Mason, Davidov participated in 33 events, achieving nine top-20 finishes and six top-10 placements. Notably, he secured an individual title at the 2025 Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate. Head Coach Ben Hannan expressed enthusiasm about Davidov’s addition to the team, stating, “We are excited to welcome Samir to the team this fall. He has played a lot and had a consistent career at George Mason. With one individual collegiate win already, he has shown the ability to compete at a high D1 level and shoot low scores.”
In his freshman year, Davidov achieved two top-10 finishes: second place at the St. John’s Doc Gimmler and ninth place at the Seattle University Invitational held at Chambers Bay. As a sophomore, he finished tenth in the 2023 Dayton Flyer Invitational with a three-under-par score and also placed in the top-20 at both the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate and The Rutherford Intercollegiate.
Last season, along with winning an individual title, Davidov placed eighth at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational and eleventh at both the Howard/USF Invitational and White Sands Collegiate.
Coach Hannan highlighted Davidov’s experience as an asset to the team: “He arrives with a ton of tournament experience which will only add to the depth and talent of our team.”
