As the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Personnel, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville is set to lead a hearing on Wednesday, March 26, with superintendents from the U.S. military academies. This marks the first instance in over three decades that these academy leaders will testify before Congress.

In his capacity as Personnel Chairman, Senator Tuberville aims to ensure that military academies are in alignment with President Trump and Secretary Hegseth’s emphasis on “focusing on lethality, not woke politics.” The senator has recently been appointed by President Trump to serve on the Board of Visitors for the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Senator Tuberville expressed his concerns regarding what he described as “woke propaganda” infiltrating military institutions under the Biden administration. He stated: “Our Service Academies are responsible for educating and training the next generation of military leaders who will protect our interests at home and abroad. Unfortunately, under the Biden administration, woke propaganda made its way into our military, including our service academies.”

Tuberville highlighted that “the American people overwhelmingly rejected Democrats’ divisive DEI ideology on November 5th,” asserting that with President Trump and Secretary Hegseth leading efforts, there is a shift back to focusing on lethality and merit within the military.

The upcoming hearing is seen as an opportunity for academy superintendents to demonstrate how they are implementing the current administration’s plan for service academies. Tuberville remarked: “At the end of the day, these institutions are taxpayer-funded and should be 100% focused on educating and training war fighters, not pushing a political agenda.”

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on several committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, HELP (Health, Education, Labor & Pensions), and Aging.
