Former South Alabama men’s basketball player Judah Brown has been named to the first All-Sun Belt Community Service Team. The honor recognizes his commitment to community service during his collegiate career and specifically in the 2024-25 season.

The All-Sun Belt Community Service Team was created in partnership with the Sun Belt Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). It highlights student-athletes from each of the 14 Sun Belt institutions who have shown leadership and dedication through community service. Each school selects one representative for this recognition.

Brown’s selection is a result of his ongoing involvement in various local initiatives. He read to students at several youth schools, took part in organizing the annual Jag Jingle Event for Boys and Girls Club, and participated in a bi-weekly food drive supporting Rightway Christian Center.

He also helped sponsor Hooper’s Heroes, an event that gives pediatric cancer patients a chance to experience “a day in the life of a student-athlete.” In addition, Brown assisted with free youth basketball camps at Corpus Christi Catholic School, supported Shooting To Change Autism Awareness efforts, and logged over 175 hours serving the City of Mobile.

After finishing his final season at South Alabama, Brown signed a professional contract with SKN St. Polten in Austria’s top basketball league.

Other honorees on the inaugural team include Tucker Sangster (App State), Corey Rucker (Arkansas State), Nicolette Picone (Coastal Carolina), Pichon Wimbley (Georgia Southern), Mikyla Tolivert (Georgia State), Sierra Puleo (James Madison), Natalie Mayes (Louisiana), Asjha Leake (ULM), Alicia Rivera (Marshall), Imo Essien (Old Dominion), Madeline Moody (Southern Miss), Lauryn Small (Texas State) and Abby Grosinske (Troy).

“Brown’s selection reflects his consistent involvement and leadership in community initiatives, aligning with the conference’s mission to highlight the positive impact student-athletes make beyond the playing field.”
