Jerry Carl, a U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 1st district since 2021, shared several posts on his social media account summarizing remarks from President Biden’s State of the Union address on February 25, 2026.

In one post, Carl highlighted President Biden’s focus on tax fraud prevention: “.@POTUS is protecting hardworking taxpayers from their taxes being stolen by fraudsters and appointing @VP to lead the war on fraud.” (posted February 25, 2026).

Carl also quoted the President regarding Department of Homeland Security funding: “As we speak Democrats in this chamber have cut off all funding for the @DHSgov.” -@POTUS (posted February 25, 2026).

A third post relayed the President’s statement about voter identification and citizenship requirements: “All voters must show voter ID. All voters must show proof of citizenship” -@POTUS (posted February 25, 2026). Carl added his own call to action: “Pass the SAVE act NOW!”

Jerry Carl has served in Congress since replacing Bradley Byrne in 2021. Before his congressional tenure, he was a member of the Mobile County Commission. Born in Hammond, Indiana in 1958, Carl currently resides in Mobile.
