South Alabama Football has announced that five of its players have been selected for the All-Sun Belt Conference Preseason Teams. The announcement was made on Monday.
Running back Kentrel Bullock and linebacker Blayne Myrick received first-team honors, with Myrick also being named the conference’s preseason defensive player of the year. Offensive lineman Jordan Davis, safety Wesley Miller, and punter Aleksi Pulkkinen were placed on the league’s preseason second team.
In 2024, Bullock rushed for 832 yards and scored seven touchdowns while catching 15 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown. Myrick recorded 101 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, a pick-six, and a forced fumble. Davis started all 13 games on the offensive line, contributing to South Alabama’s program-best rushing total of 2,580 yards and 32 touchdowns. Miller made 59 tackles in 2024 and intercepted three passes, returning one for a touchdown. Pulkkinen averaged 40.4 yards per punt last season and pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line on 16 occasions.
The Jaguars will begin their season at Hancock Whitney Stadium against Morgan State on Saturday, August 30th at 6 p.m. CT.
