South Alabama linebacker Darius McKenzie has been ranked among the top 20 prospects eligible for the 2026 Canadian Football League (CFL) Draft. The CFL Scouting Bureau placed McKenzie at No. 18 in its most recent list, which is compiled by scouts, player personnel directors, and general managers from the league’s nine teams.
McKenzie, who is from Ottawa, Ontario, is set to begin his second season with South Alabama in 2025. Last year, he played in all 13 games and started the final eight. He recorded 72 tackles along with 3.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups. In addition to his performance on the field, McKenzie was recognized for his academic achievements with CSC Academic All-District Honors.
The Jaguars will start their 2025 football season at home against Morgan State on Saturday, August 30 at 6 p.m. CT.
